Obituary For Mrs. Jo Ann Stone Peoples

Mrs. Jo Ann Peoples departed this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on May 16, 1944, to Lawson and Dorothy Stone.

Early in life she confessed a hope in Christ, and she remained dedicated - caring for not just her church, but an entire community as well. Deeply rooted in her faith, Jo Ann served not only as a Mother of Pentecostal Church of Everlasting Truth, but in an infinite multitude of duties including the church secretary and pastor’s aid.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawson Stone, Jr. and Otha Stone; one sister, Patricia Stone; two daughters, Pamela Smith and Dorothy Sharkey; one son, Kevin Wright; and grandchildren, Justin Peoples, NaKia Hall, and Raymond Smith.

Those still here holding her memory dear are her son, Henry (Sharon) Peoples, Jr. of Blytheville, AR; two daughters, Lisa Wright and Marjorie Rogers both of Blytheville, AR; two brothers, Bishop Johnson (Birdie) Stone of Blytheville, AR and Perry Lee Stone of Trenton, NJ; two sisters, Doris Woods of Key Largo, FL and Barbara Stone of Blytheville, AR; 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her bonus family, “The Wright Family"; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 12:00 noon. at Pentecostal Church of Everlasting Truth, 1905 West Main Street, Blytheville where Bishop Johnson Stone is the pastor.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Bishop Stone will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette, Arkansas.
