Obituary For Ms. Dorothy Mae King

Dorothy Mae Lanney King was born on April 8, 1960, in Steele, Missouri, to Robert Lanney Sr. and Mary Jane Wall Lanney. She attended schools in the Caruthersville, Missouri School District and spent more than 15 years with the American Red Cross in Blytheville, Arkansas, beginning as a volunteer and later serving as an Administrative Assistant. Dorothy was a beautiful, vibrant woman known for her warm smile and kind words. A faithful member of Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ, she served as a choir member, church treasurer, and hospitality committee member. She was also a wonderful cook who especially cherished time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Cora Lanney-Bethany. Dorothy transitioned from this life on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She will be forever remembered and loved by two sons, Andrew L. Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee; and Michael L. King of Blytheville, Arkansas; five daughters, Latoshia Anderson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Melissa Robinson of Carrollton, Georgia; Cassandrea Robinson (Jason Warren) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; LaCreasha-Robinson (Derrick) Kimbrough of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Breanna King (Alesia Turner) of Blytheville, Arkansas; three brothers, Jesse and Naomi Lanney of Grandview, Missouri; Nathaniel Watson of Detroit, Michigan ; and Mark Lanney also of Detroit, Michigan, 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Nehemiah Temple Church of God In Christ, 124 West McHaney Drive, Blytheville, Arkansas where Elder Richard McNear is the pastor. Pastor James Bragg will deliver the eulogy. Interment is scheduled on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 am in Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Burdette, Arkansas.
