Pastor Robert Louis Dennis was born July 15, 1952, in Walls, Mississippi to Joseph Dennis and Eva Mae Parr and was raised by his loving uncle and aunt, Billy and Lenora Burton.
Robert was a graduate of Blytheville High School class of 1972. Following high school, he attended Cotton Boll Vo-Tech. Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army as an active-duty serviceman for four years and as a reservist for eighteen years.
Robert’s Christian walk began at the age of 12 years old when he joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Conaway. Through his years at New Bethel, Robert was ordained as a deacon and served 18 years before starting his journey into the ministry. His ministry began in 2004 at his beloved New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend J.L. Williams. Then, he was called to serve as assistant pastor of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hermandale, Missouri under the direction of Reverend Gilbert Davis. In 2016, God directed his path to Malden, Missouri to serve as shepherd of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with his final assignment being Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church, in Portageville, Missouri, where he served as the Pastor until his death.
On March 15, 2026, GOD called home one of his most faithful servants from St Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Pastor Dennis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Wendy Kuykendall Dennis of the home, two sons, Randall (Cassandra) Dennis of Loganville, Georgia; Randy (Shenieka) Dennis of Chantilly, Virginia; one daughter, Pamela (Melvin) Garrett of Jackson, Missouri; two sisters, Viva Byrd of Memphis, Tennessee; and Leora Hawkins of Chicago, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00am until services begin. First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Odale Jones in the pastor.
Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, 11:00am at First Missionary Baptist, Reverend J.L. Williams will deliver the eulogy. Full military honors and interment will follow in Whiteside Gardens in Osceola, Arkansas.
