Darlene Adams

Darlene was a sweet and very wise person. I'm very blessed to have known her. She was the kind of person who was quiet, gentle, cheerful and absolutely fearless. I will miss you, Darlene.

Sandy, Alexis and the rest of the Adams Family, in this season of Bereavement and Social Distancing, I'm sorry to hear of your loss, but celebrate a great and full life lived by your Mother Darlene. I met Darlene when I worked at Tuskegee several years ago. She had one of the kindest hearts and most generous spirits I have ever seen. I can not say enough about Mrs Adam's, even in the small time frame I got to share with her and take care of her. She was always beautiful on her visits with us and I looked fwd in seeing what pair earrings she would be wearing that day. She was an Encourager, a Believer and a Fighter! She made sure she did not leave w/o giving me a hug 1st! Although I have bonds with all my patients, some are more Divine than others; Mrs Adam's was one of those Divine souls for me!! My most profound memory is when she got to ring that bell, I will never forget that moment for her and her family!! We celebrated hard! Even though she will be Greatly missed, we know the bell she is ringing now, NOTHING CAN COMPARE!!! I Love you Mrs Adam's and her girls

I met Darlene and the Adams family when I enrolled at Tuskegee in 1977. Our friendship lasted until her passing. While we did not talk as much as I would have liked we remained in touch. I will always cherish our last conversation days before her passing. She remained the loving and positive person I had know dying the course of our 43 year relationship. Sandy and Alexis know that I am here for you guys. To all the family I send my love.

On behalf of the Moody family from Virginia, we were all saddened to hear of the passing of our niece, cousin and oh so fun loving friend. Darlene brought sunshine to everything she touched. We always looked forward to the visits from her and the rest of the family. Distance never seemed to be an issue, if she could be with her family, she would make a way. Even during her own health struggle, she made a point of coming one last time to older family members. We loved her but God loved her even more. Darlene and I met in early 1995 as I was introduced to the Tuskegee Institute. Our connection was instant and blossomed into quite a foundational and lasting one. This person I have known for all these years, has been loving, sharing, compassionate, nurturing, selfless, non-prejudicial, tireless, always available; willing and able, dutiful, dedicated... with a huge blanket of infective personality. I can go on and on and on and on!!!! And still now, through her physical attributes have been quelled, her influence on my family and me would never be diminished. I can selfishly curse this moment in time, but instead I will choose to recognize and honor her service to humanity... and celebrate her as she embarks on her glide path to heaven. Darlene and I worked together for years. We shared each other's lives with wins and losses. She was one of the sweetest persons it's been my blessing to know. Always pleasant, always positive and always very kind. there is a void in Tuskegee without Darlene Adams.

Darlene and I were good friends in elementary school in Virginia. Her family moved to Alabama and I missed her. To my delight we reconnected as adults and exchanged cards and calls over many years.
