Thank You, Dr. Reese. You are the reason I became a veterinarian. When I was in Kindergarten, attending St. Joseph Catholic School here in Tuskegee, AL, you walked into our classroom and did a presentation on what a veterinarian is and about veterinary medicine. You later arranged for our class to come over and take a tour of the Large Animal Clinic and get a first-hand glimpse and demonstration of the profession. After returning to school that day, I made up my mind then, in Kindergarten, to become a veterinarian. I am so GLAD that I got a chance to tell you that story and say "Thank You" face-to-face, a few years before your retirement. I'm proud to have had you as an instructor, colleague, and true friend.

He always took care of my horses 🐎. He will be missed but not forgotten 💔.

Dr. George Reese was a very dear soul. He had a calming effect on me and his smile always brightened my day. He is the epitome of the fact that one does not have to shout in order to have a huge impact. My condolences to his family including his Tuskegee veterinary family. May he rest in peace.

Truly a super nice man is the description I will always have for Dr. Reese. I am thankful I had the opportunity to work with him for many years at the veterinary school/now college. Dr. Reese was always very inclusive and helpful while I was a student at Tuskegee in 1974 to 1978. When I saw this picture of him I realize he was such a baby when he started working there. Giving your life to a university and teaching can give the family a lot of pride that he helped bring veterinarians more chances to learn from his experiences. Dr. Reese was one of my favorite professors. A beautiful soul. He is missed and will always be missed. My condolences to the family.

Dr. Reese was a gentle man that bore the ravages of the social ills of his time with steely determination behind an empathetic expression. He was a teacher, a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. He once advised me "Never let them see you cry..." His impact on a generation of veterinarians is immeasurable and worthy of note. He was an unsung hero! I will miss his presence. My sincere condolences to his family and sympathy for their loss.

Dr. George Reese was a mentor and a friend! He provided guidance when I came back to do an internship in pathology and allowed me to tag along on large animal cases! When I returned for Symposia he was there to greet many of his students with a smile and a handshake or a smile! George with his mild demeanor will be missed! My sympathy and prayers go out to his family! 🙏🏽

I am sorry for your loss. Dr. Reese always, always made me smile - even while on those challenging ambulatory calls, and when we still met many years after my graduation. He was always pleasant and kind. I am thankful for his guidance and knowledge, and for having the opportunity to know him.
