April Delaine Williams, 72, was a daughter of the late Jessie Williams Jr. and Irene Houze Williams.
April attended J.J. Clinton Elementary, Barr Street Junior High and Lancaster High School and graduated in 1971. She attended Denmark Tech and Columbia School of Business after graduating from high school.
April was a talented singer, she sang with different bands across South and North Carolina. If you did not see her, you would have thought it was the great Chaka Khan singing. Her voice stood out.
She was featured on an ETV show while living in Atlanta, Georgia for a few years. Later, the show was picked up by WIS TV in Columbia, SC. She was employed at Coke Cola United Company in Atlanta, Georgia for many years in the Administrative Department.
April was a giving, caring person to all who spent time with her. She had a very special friend, Sandra H. Robinson who she was very fond of from Junior high to the day she passed. April loved God and she was dedicated to Christianity.
Those left to cherish fond memories are four uncles, James Williams of Lancaster, SC, David (Ann) Williams and Rothell (Marcellus) Williams of Charlotte, NC and John (Shirley) Houze of Richmond, Virginia; two aunts, Dorothy Fletcher of Lancaster, SC and Naomi Worthy of Charlotte, NC, many relatives, friends, and a special friend Sandra H. Robinson.
Funeral Services will be 1pm, Friday, August 15, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home.
Family visitation Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 1-5pm.

I was sad to hear of April's passing. We were neighbors for many years and Ms. Hattie took me under her wings like a daughter. I traveled on vacation with them and we shared meals and laughter together at our homes. She was a devoted daughter to her parents. May she now rest in peace.

We are so sorry for your loss. My heart is with you during this difficult time. April and I shared a car ride to York Technical College during the early seventies, and she was our piano player at St. John Baptist Church in Lancaster and also a singer for The Third World band.
