Obituary For Debra Joyce Reeves
Debra Joyce Reeves was born on October 19,1951 to the late Jaronzia and Mangerine Reeves in Lancaster, SC.
Debra lived most of her life in Lancaster, SC. After graduating from Barr Street High in1969, Debra attended Clinton College in Rock Hill, SC where she received her Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts in 1971.
A lifetime member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church, Debra was a member of the children's choir, junior choir, senior choir and genesis choir. Debra's love of music was apparent every time her fingers graced the keys of a piano in one of the many recitals she performed in. She was a faithful servant of the Lord who spent countless days in bible study and feeding members of the church.
Her dedication to serving the Lord, helping others, and fellowshipping led her to join the Women on the Move group in 2008. Fondly referred to as “the mother of WOTM," Debra's presence, fashion sense and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Talsmouth. To cherish in her memory, Debra leaves behind her brother Ronne Reeves, sister-in-law Denise, niece LaDeva and great niece and nephew, Diaja and Ayden; as well as a host of cousins and friends
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church.
Viewing will be from 12-2:30.
Burial services are private.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Debra's name to Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church.
