Obituary For Robert A. Robinson
Robert A. Robinson passed Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Piedmont Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Rev. James E. Robinson and Lelia Cousar Robinson. Rob was the husband of Shirley Crawford Robinson for over 60 years.
Rob, as he was affectionately known live a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. He was a devoted member of Red Hill Baptist Church, and he was active in his community and a member of Reed Lodge #195 for 45 years.
He graduated from Barr Street High School in 1968 and furthered his education at York Technical College in 1972. Rob served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Rob dedicated 29 years at Grace Springs Bleachery, and later, he owned and operated Robinson Trucking for 13 years, also spending years driving for LARS.
Rob was an avid fisherman of Springs Park, Dutchman Creek, Bear Creek and the pier in Myrtle Beach with his wife. He found both purpose and peace on the water. The water reflected his character steady, resilient, and full of quiet wisdom and strength. He cherished moments spent watching his grandsons playing baseball and football and loved traveling across many states.
He was predeceased by his cherished parents; brothers, Charlie, Dan Lee, David, Rudolph, James, Theophus, Sammy and William; Sisters, Emma and Lelia. Despite this great loss, the legacy of love and warmth he shared with his family endures.
Rob is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Crawford Robinson; two sons, Eric Robinson (Sonja) of Atlanta GA., and Darrell Robinson of Lancaster, SC and one daughter, Rhonda McMillon of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Walter Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO., and one sister-in-law, Ruth Robinson of Lancaster, SC; five grandchildren, Darius Robinson, Cameron McMillon, Tyler Robinson, Justin McMillon, and Lafayette Chavis, and two great-grandchildren, Jayden Robinson and Kamari Robinson.
Funeral Service will be 2pm, Friday, July 10, 2026 at Red Hill Baptist Church with burial in Lancaster Memorial Cemetery.
Viewing will be 1-5pm, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at McMullen Funeral Home following Reed Lodge #195 Masonic Rites.

I was sadden to hear of the loss of Cuzin ROB. I was born and raised under his decan leadership at Red Hill. Every time I got to visit my mom or attend church I always make my way to see cuz ROB before leaving and he would always greet me with a BIG SMILE and a hug. I am truly going to miss him.. GOOD MAN !!
We are saddened to hear of Rob's passing. I personally remember him growing up and would see him at Red Hill during their Revival. Our prayers are with the family. Charlie & Pat Jordan

To God I give the glory for the life cousin Rob lived. This is hard, and there are so many things to say bout, but the life he lived, speaks volumes. He was more like a big brother to me. I could go to him and we talks for hours. When I did or said something wrong. He would get on me, but, do it in love. Lord, this is so hard, I mean hard. I will miss the calls and me calling him. He always told me, he didn't come here to stay and this place wasn't his home. His faith was strong and as a man, he was strong in his faith. He was always there for me. Father, Father, Father, help us to endure his pain. Father, help us to be and live better by the life Rob lived. He was More like a father, more like a big brother. I loved you, but God loved you more. Sleep on servant of God and take your rest. Rest from this old miserable world, rest from the toil and snares, I, we will miss you so much. Thank God for you and what you taught me over the years. Shirley, Eric, Rhonda and Darrell, your Children's, spouses I love you. And is here for you. An unconditional love. Thank you Lord. Father, please help me endure. Cuz, this hurt so bad.
Sorry to hear about Cousin Rob 😢 Our Great- Granddad and his dad were Cousin!! Gonna miss talking to him when I come home to Lancaster..🙏 to the family 🙏
