Obituary For Milicent M Creary

Milicent’s Life Story

In Loving Memory

Milicent Maud Francis Creary beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and great

grandmother passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2026. Her indomitable spirit set an

example of how to be kind, determined, and prayerful for all that knew her.

Born on October 17, 1930 in Glengoffe, Saint Catherine, Jamaica, to Conrad and Etta Francis,

Milicent, affectionately known as Aunt B, was the seventh of nine children. Milicent met the love

of her life, Vincent Alfonso Creary in Mt. Concord, JA to whom she was married over 50 years.

After many years in Saint Catherine, both she and Vincent moved to Kingston. In 1964, the

family moved to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to bring her gifts and talents to the U.S. nursing labor

force. She received nursing training at Bryn Mawr Hospital and worked diligently in the nursing

field for 16 years before she retired and made her last move to Hollywood, Florida. Milicent

spent her later years as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and church member. She

often helped friends and family with their immigration journey to the U.S. and spent summers

with her visiting grandchildren. Across all age spans of these grandchildren are loving

memories of watching Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Trinity Broadcasting

Network. Milicent loved to sing, cook, sew, and lovingly babysit her great-grandchildren.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus for you.“ 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Milicent was known by all to be a ceaseless prayer. Her passing is a return to the one whom

she prayed to fervently and a reunion with her beloved husband and her two sons. Milicent

leaves behind her children Barry (predeceased), Norma (Jean), Winston, Anthony, Jennifer,

Stenneth (predeceased), and Eric; her grandchildren Christopher, Sandra, Karlene, Gavin,

Ayanna, Alecia, Shanel, Kavene, Nadene, Donovon, Dave, Davina, David, Melissa, Dena,

Steven, Alicia, Siobahn, Vincent, Chevel, and Erica; and her great grandchildren of which there

are many. In addition to her immediate family, Milicent is survived by numerous extended family

members, close friends and colleagues who were deeply touched by her warm spirit and

generosity and will also miss her greatly.

As we celebrate Milicent’s beautiful life, we remember not only the years she lived but the love

she gave so freely. While she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing that she is now at

peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Forever in our hearts, always in our memories, and never forgotten.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
