Sergeant. We worked together for 17 years, and you were more than a supervisor... you were my friend. Always being there, not only for me, also for my family. Thank you for all your time and dedication to us. You will be in our hearts forever. We already miss you. LALA

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) I know His promise is true, and I believe that He has given you rest and that you are now home. I praise God for your life and the role you played in mine. I am grateful to your family for sharing you with us and I'm humbled by the example you led. Thank you for bringing your light into what can sometimes be a dark place. Rest in peace, my friend. đź’™

Sarge, losing you leaves a void that could never be filled. In this tough time, I encourage your loved ones to live as vibrantly as you did. Your memory and strength is an inspiration to us all.

~ Bianca ~

Big guy, I am deeply saddened by your unforeseen passing. I'll always treasure our last encounter, it was the usual, snap fingers, I point at you, you point at me, and we compliment each other on how great we looked. Your constant smile, no matter the circumstances, left a lasting impression on me. I never saw you angry, even amidst your struggles. You were a true inspiration, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience. Love you and miss you big guy. Until we see each other again in the kingdom of heaven, I will never forget you! To the Skinner family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I pray for your comfort and peace during this difficult time. —David

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died."

Elke Perez, sent the adaptation of "We Remember Them" poem by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer

Shawn there are no words for your loss goes deep for anyone who knew you. From day one, you offered guidance and support to anyone who would accept it. Selfishly, I admit that I will miss the don't-sweat-the-small-stuff-attitude, smiles and jokes that made the day brighter. I loved how your typical smile always went up to 110 when you spoke of your family with such pride and gratitude. I'm sure they knew. I will use that as an example when I speak of mine, even when they drive me crazy. See you on the other side!

Sgt Skinner every encounter with you started and ended with a smile and laughter. I could still remember our last encounter, and I exited the building saying, "see you all later". Sadly, I never got the opportunity for "later". You will be missed, for Heaven has gained another "Angel". Sending my deepest love, prayers and condolences to family, friends, and loved ones. Lord, lift every broken heart and fill it with your love, peace, and comfort. ~D.Jonesy~

Uncle Shawn! I will miss you and your phone calls checking in on me. Thank you for being a great roomate and friend to my pops, and for caring for us like family. I love and miss you, and will make sure to meet Von Miller... just so you can look down and smile about it. Rest Easy, you will be missed tremendously. -Caden Irvine

I walk by your office door now still in disbelief. I will miss your humor, our inside jokes, and conversations about family. I pray for strength for your loved ones and future loved ones that will have never had the pleasure of meeting you. SVB knew you as a Survivor and now we'll continue to remember you as family as well. Sleep well Skinner. -Marichelle

Sgt. Skinner, you will forever hold a special place in my heart!!! All your words of wisdom and advise will live with me forever. Thank you for always making me smile. SVB will not be the same without you. Rest in peace, I love you !!! and may GOD grant the strength to the Skinner family and all who had the privilege of knowing you.

Shawn, it was a sad news when I was told of your passing. Is fresh in my memory when I first came to Sex Bat and I was assigned to you. Always thank you for your help and support of teaching me the ropes, besides the friendship establish. After 10 years of my retirement at time we would meet for lunch or you would visit me at my new job. Take care my friend, I know now there's no more suffering and you're sitting next to our Lord. RIP 🙏❤️

Sarge, you truly made this world a better place. You made every day brighter, funnier, sweeter, better. Despite anything you were going through, your care and love was constant. I've said it before, I can only pray my son grows up to be the man that you were. You were an inspiration. You were kind. You were hilarious. You were humble and compassionate. You were drama-free. You loved your family so hard, and everyone knew it. You have fought harder than anyone I know, which is why you deserve eternal peace, my friend. Thank you for consistently taking care of me and my family. It's only been a few days, and nothing is the same. I will miss you always. Till we meet again, I love you, big guy... -Jackie "JC" Caso

I find it hard to believe that you are no longer here on earth with us. I will cherish our conversations and words of wisdom that you've poured into me. You are truly a gem and will be missed by all. It was an honor to work with you, rest easy my friend. -Junie "with the bionic ears"

My brother, I will miss the laughs we shared for the past 20 years., and those moments when we spoke about our kids and how they were coming along. You are great Papa, and now you will continue to watch over them from Heaven, of this I have no doubt. You fought the good fight my brother, now be in peace in our Lord's kingdom. Your brother Orlando Reyes.

Shawn, you will be truly missed my brother. From our first hello, to the last time we spoke, you were always smiling and sharing that big heart of yours. We never know why God does, what he does, but I pray you are at peace.

To the Skinner family, know that Shawn was a great man that always thought of his family first. It was honor and pleasure being his friend. He will surely be missed. Live and remember him through your memories.

May God with you and yours always.

At the rising of the sun and at its going down, We remember You. At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, We remember You. At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring, We remember You. At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer, We remember You. At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of autumn, We remember You. At the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember You As long as we live, You too will live; for You are now a part of us, as We remember You. When we are weary and in need of strength, We remember You. When we are lost and sick at heart, We remember You. When we have joys we yearn to share, We remember You. When we have decisions that are difficult to make, We remember You. When we have achievements that are based on yours, We remember You. As long as we live, you too shall live, for you are part of us, as We remember You."

Adaptation of "We Remember Them" - by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer

My dear brother Shawn, thank you for having been a great friend and "lunch buddy" for the last 18 years. Your joyful laughter, compassionate heart, and unwavering optimism touched so many lives in the bureau, including mine. We will all miss your "I still got it" hip dance. Rest In Peace my brother.

-Chauvelin "Moe" Moise.

I have been trying to find the words to express my condolences but they fail me. I have worked with Sgt. Skinner for 17 years. Although he was my supervisor he always said that I didn't work for him that I was his colleague. In a paramilitary environment, that was rare. So, to share a memory; Our unit consisted of mostly females. So one year for Halloween we brought angel head bands. When he came in we said in unison said "Good morning Skinner" and he responded "Good morning Angels". We were then known as Skinner's Angels." We even took a picture posing as the Skinner's s Angels.

Rest in peace my friend.

To the Skinner Family,

Please know that this world was Blessed to have the opportunity to know Shawn. Shawn was a beacon of strength, Love, and compassion. His lose can only be filled by the Lord. My sincere condolences go out to your family. Take strength in know that he is with the Lord and no longer feels the pain of this world. Deuteronomy 31:8, It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

Love and Miss you brother, God Bless John Snuggs and the Snuggs family

Shawn you truly will be missed! It was a pleasure working with you and I loved our bantering back and forth. I hope you know it was always out of love. I pray you are at peace. Ceci "The Queen" I will certainly miss hearing you call me that!

May God's love and grace fill your hearts and bring you peace in this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences to Sgt Skinners family and friends. Clearly, death is no friend. In fact, the Bible describes it as an unwelcome "enemy." (1 Corinthians 15:26) For some it comes early; for others it comes later. But it always comes. Unfortunately, for our dear Sgt it came too early. For many, thinking about it is uncomfortable, even frightening. Will this enemy ever be conquered? Sgt, must have conquered in his career a lot of bad people and put them away, but this is a different conquer that only God can do. Is that really possible? To find the answers, we first need to understand why we grow old, get sick and die. Meanwhile, remembering not only him, but others we have lost along the way and sharing his and stories now will keep your hope alive until the day comes that we see him again. Important scriptures to remember as food for thought and hope it brings some comfort to all in these hard times. "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."—Isaiah 25:8 "The last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing."—1 Corinthians 15:26. "Death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore."—Revelation 21:4. Throughout his written Word, the Bible, God repeatedly confirms that his purpose has not changed. "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it."—Psalm 37:29. THE DEAD ARE NOT FORGOTTEN "All those in the memorial tombs will . . . come out."—John 5:28, 29. "God . . . cannot lie." (Titus 1:2)

Wishing your family and friends comfort and peace during this difficult time. Sgt. Skinner I will miss your Infectious smile and cheerful demeanor. Thank you for being an example of patience and positivity, may you sleep in peace.

You will always be missed but never forgotten Big Guy! Thanks for always being the person to always bring a smile to everyone's faces. Rest in peace my brother! Love you man! Sergeant Jonathan Leon
