Obituary For Deacon Richard Bradford

Deacon Richard Bradford, 88, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Friday, July 5, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Bible Way Baptist Church, 1200 East 4th Avenue, Albany, Georgia 31705.

Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31721.

Mr. Richard Bradford was born on December 22, 1935 in Dougherty County, Georgia to the late Mr. Bailey and Mrs. Annie King Bradford. He was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System.

When Mr. Bradford was young, he joined Mercer Grove Baptist Church (now New Birth Fellowship Church). Later in life, he transferred his membership to Bible Way Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and attended faithfully until his death. Over his lifetime, he worked various industrial jobs and prided himself as being the best lawn mower fixer east of the Flint River.

Mr. Bradford departed this life on July 5, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.

He was preceded in death by his wives: Ms. Grace Bradford, Ms. Moree Bradford, and Ms. Mildred Bradford as well as his siblings: Mr. Roosevelt Bradford, Ms. Mary Hill, and Ms. Deloris Daniels.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his children: Ms. Linda Bradford, Mr. Richard Morris, Ms. Cathy Gervin, and Ms. Patricia Gadson; siblings: Ms. Essie McCray, Mr. Johnny Teemer, Sr. (Willie Bell), Ms. Annie Waters, Ms. Helen Green, and Mr. Charles Bradford (Eleanor); sister-in-law: Ms. Daisy Bradford; brother-in laws: Mr. Adolf Lee and Mr. Joe Lee; beloved niece: Ms. Lisa Bradford; beloved friends: Mr. Robert Lewis and Mr. Willie Perry; and a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
