Mother Liza Mae Wallace Kinson was born December 8, 1927, in Baker County, Georgia to the late Mr. Jeff Wallace, Sr., and the late Mrs. Charity Evans Wallace. She was the seventh of eleven children. Her siblings included Luella White, Beatrice Washington, Amie Johnson, Missouri Lyde, Jeff Wallace, Jr., Jesse Wallace, Henry Wallace, Major Wallace, Eva Williams, and Mamie Wallace, all of whom preceded her in death.
She was married to Milton Mitchell Kinson, Sr., on December 27, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1991. This union was blessed with five beautiful children and a loving niece they considered their own.
Liza joined Cray Chapel C.M.E. Church in 1938, serving in many capacities: as President of the Usher Board, and on the Stewardess Board, Christian Education, and the Hospitality Committee. She was
the longest serving member when God called her home. Lizaβs hobbies were shopping, talking on the phone, working on word puzzles, and cooking. She made sure all who entered her home were fed greatly.
Liza was educated in the public schools of Baker and Dougherty counties, and later she received a diploma in cosmetology from the Washington Street Beauty School.
Liza was a beautician, and was the owner and operator of Kinson Beauty Shop for many years. She also worked at the Lee County Manufacturing Company for 19 years until her retirement in 1989. After retirement she worked as a school crossing guard.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Willson Hospice House, God looked down upon His garden of beautiful flowers, saw that she was tired and had grown weary, and plucked her from among His best orchids. Then He assisted her in making the transition from earth to Heaven.
Lizaβs legacy includes her children, Milton Kinson, Jr. (Debra), King David Kinson III of Albany, GA, Shirley Kinson-Jones (Calvin) of Accokeek, MD, Beverly Johnson (Joseph), and Ronald Lee Kinson (Vontressia) of Albany, GA, and niece, Bernice Wallace Dargen of
