Mr. Marvin L. Edwards of Camilla, Georgia departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at his residence in Camilla, Georgia.
Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church, 331 Peachtree Street, Camilla, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Oakview Cemetery, 4947 Martin Luther King Jr. Road, Camilla, Georgia.
Marvin Louis Edwards, 69, of Pelham, GA, passed away at home. He received his education from the public schools of Mitchell County, GA. Marvin owned and managed Marvinโs Limousine Service in New York, NY, and then Peach State Sedans in Atlanta, GA. When life around him faltered, he started over with his โwhite shoesโ and maintained fastidious outfits.
He celebrated with classmates from the Mitchell County High School Class of โ72 as often as he could. In his spare time, Marvin loved cultivating his garden of vegetables and pruning his different fruit trees. Ownership of several vinyl R&B collector album series from that era kept him playing that music and dancing. He was a natural poet at an early age and wrote beautiful sonnets and ballads.
Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Edwards, Frank Edwards, and Freddie Edwards. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Brandi Louise Edwards (Ivan); parents, Lucille Spence Edwards and Ellis Mills (Christine); he is also survived by his sisters, Lucy Ann Edwards and Lorraine Mills of Camilla, GA, Geraldine Mills Hambrick of Atlanta, GA, Rebecca Johnson (Addison), and Vanda Jenkins (William) of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, David Lee Edwards of Brooklyn, New York; uncle, James Spence of Camilla, GA; aunt, Sarah Mills of Camilla, GA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I am saddened about Marvin passing on the day of his home going. I met him from my co-teacher, Priscilla Davis who introduced him to me as her man, boyfriend. Marvin was very polite, friendly, as well as a gentlemen. His dress code was flawless. I liked him so much because he made my co teacher smile and laugh ak the time we were together at my home. He was very hilarious yet, keen with knowledge of business. Now, he has joined his girl Priscilla beyond the sky. They are rejoicing together looking down on me weeping until joy cometh in the morning. The Edwards Family, know that Marvin is safe in The Most High right hand on the throne. Mrs.Bond/5th Grade
