Mrs. Rosa Lee Johnson, 91, of Ridgeway, South Carolina formerly of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her residence in Ridgeway, South Carliona.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church, 835 W Broad Ave, Albany, GA 31701.
Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, 200 Cotton Ave, Albany, Georgia 31701.
Rosa was born on October 30, 1932 in Bluffton, Georgia to George Thorpe and Mattie McDowell
Thorpe. Rosa accepted Christ at an early age. She attended public schools in Bluffton and also Albany,
Georgia. On August 21, 1948 she married Eddie Johnson Sr and to this union, seven children were
born. Rosa was a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She also was an excellent cook and baker
who enjoyed family and friends as they partook in her amazing meals. She was a devoted member of
Cutliff Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Board and sometimes the
Kitchen Committee. She was a quiet and humble spirited woman. She loved her children and family
wholeheartedly, especially her grandchildren.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Johnson Sr., son Scott Johnson, grandson Marcus
Wilson, one sister and three brothers. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Linda
(Willie) Hunt, Eddie (Geneva) Johnson Jr., Mattie Elaine (Larry) Lakes, Rose (Alvin) Richmond, Tyrone (Jeraldine) Johnson Sr., Brenda (Kevin) Wilson. Twenty grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"Grandma Rosa" was so precious to our family! She had the most gentle heart and humble soul. You will be missed for sure here on Earth, but God has gained a wonderful angel to watch over her beautiful family! We will miss you Grandma.
