Obituary For Ms. Helen Delores Ellison
Ms. Helen Delores Ellison, 72, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Sunday, December 8, 2024 at her residence in Albany, Georgia.
Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church sanctuary, 3980 Gillionville Rd, Albany, GA 31721. Burial will follow at Antioch M.B.C. Cemetery, 3512 Moultrie Rd, Albany, GA 31705.
Helen D. Ellison was born to the late George and Delores Porter Frazier on January 7, 1952, in Albany, Georgia.
Helen departed this life on December 8, 2024, in Albany, Georgia, at her residence.
Helen was the eldest of her siblings and respected them very much. She was educated in the Dougherty County school system.
She worked hard most of her life. She was employed at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for over 40 years. She retired on November 7, 2011, from the Environmental Service Department as a supervisor.
Helen began her Christian journey at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Later, she joined Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, under the leadership of Dr. Raymond Polite.
She was a member of My Sista’s Keeper which is a women’s ministry organization, under the leadership of Dr. April Washington. She worked and served faithfully on all events.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Gillian Charity.
She leaves a lifetime of love and memories of her beautiful spirit, strength, and smile to be cherished by her daughters, Angela Frazier, Barbara Ellison, both of Albany, Georgia, and Tameka Frazier of McDonald, Georgia; two sisters, Gwendolyn (Walter) Simmons of Athens, Georgia, and Annette Smith of Daytona, Ohio; three brothers, George (Della) Frazier, James Frazier, and Kenneth Frazier of Albany, Georgia; one aunt, Vera Jones of Albany, Georgia; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
