Obituary For Carrie Lee Murdaugh

"Who could find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies" Proverbs 31:10

Mother Carrie Lee Murdaugh was born March 4, 1939, to the late Ernestine and Hattie Baxter Roberts in Allendale County, South Carolina.

At an early age, she joined Near River Baptist Church. Her faith in God never wavered. She served faithfully in many compacities. She later became a member of Mount Carmel Holiness Church serving as an Usher until her health failed.

Mother Carrie attended the Public Schools of Allendale County.

She was employed with Colbert Plywood for Numerous years.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life Anderson McKnight, in 1954. This union was blessed with seven children. After his death, in 1973, she later married Clarence Murdaugh, in 1988. He also preceded her in death.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, and driving. One of our most beloved past memories of her was when she would get stopped by the police for speeding and she always managed not to get a ticket.

Mother Carrie displayed her strength, determination and love for everyone daily especially her grandchildren.

Our beloved Mother gained her wings, On Sunday night, July 31, 2022. She departed this earthly life in the comfort of her home in Fairfax, South Carolina.

Our mother has been taken, but God has gained another angel to his perpetual garden.

In addition, to her husbands, and parents, she is predeceased in death by her daughters, Ruthann and Shirley, as well as seven siblings, two grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

For those we love just don't go away, but they walk beside us each day, Unspoken, Unheard, Unfelt, but always near, we still love you, miss you, and wish you was here.
