Obituary For Kenneth White

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He
leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul: He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table
before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely
goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the
LORD forever.”

Kenneth Curtis White was born on November 22, 1961, in Colleton County, South Carolina, to the late David White and the late Nell White. He was the firstborn of triplets, alongside his sisters, Katherine Young and the late Kathleen White, who were born on
Thanksgiving Day.

At an early age, Kenneth was baptized at St. James the Greater Catholic Church.

Kenneth attended the public schools of Hampton County and was a proud graduate of Wade
Hampton High School, Class of 1980.

Following graduation, Kenneth began his career at a manufacturing plant in Yemassee, South Carolina. He later joined International Paper, later known as Georgia-Pacific, in Rincon, Georgia, where he worked as a machine operator. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Kenneth advanced to the position of Machine Operator Line Manager. After 30 years of faithful service and countless hours of commitment, he retired with pride and honor.

On February 11, 1989, Kenneth married the love of his life, the former Nancy Smart. Together,
they shared 37 years of love, devotion, and partnership. Kenneth was a loving and caring
husband who was deeply devoted to his wife and family. He created a home that was warm,
welcoming, and rooted in love, compassion, and care for others. He was always there to support,
serve, and encourage everyone around him.

Kenneth especially loved Thanksgiving, perhaps because he was born on that special day. He
enjoyed cooking for family and friends, sharing laughter, reminiscing about younger days, and
creating cherished memories. Known as a “secret joker,” he loved telling jokes and bringing
smiles to those around him.

To know Kenneth was to love him. He never met a stranger, and everyone who encountered him
quickly grew fond of his quiet and gentle spirit. He was truly a gentle giant whose kindness and
love were felt by all.

Kenneth was a devoted fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and proudly cheered them on. He
was also an Amazon shopaholic, an avid fisherman who loved spending time by the water, to
think, relax, and unwind, and was a frequent visitor to flea markets where he searched for gadgets
and treasures for his next project. When he wasn’t fishing or treasure hunting, he enjoyed watching football and his favorite western shows.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by (3) Brothers: Freeman White, Andrew
White and David White, Jr.; (2) Sisters: Mary Magood and his triplet sister: Kathleen White; (1)
Daughter: Darlene Smart; (1) Grandson: Russell Smart.

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, Kenneth peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord in the
The comfort of his home.

He leaves to cherish an astonishing legacy, his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Nancy White, of the home; (1) Daughter: Hermene Smart Plummer, Lakeland, FL; (4) Grandchildren: Steven Smart; Fairfax, SC; Joshua (Brandy) Smart; Aiken, SC; Autumn Smart; Atlanta, GA; and Markeith Breeland; Allendale, SC; (9) Great – Grandchildren: Ty ‘ Queze Smart, Darreonia Smart, Zyrion Devoe, Derwin Devoe, Khloe Smart, Rhyan Platts, Gabby Smart, Justic Smart,
and Journee Devoe; (5) Sisters: Nell (Roy) Washington; Jonesville, SC; Margaret Whitaker;
Walterboro, SC; Barbara Smalls; Dale, SC; Rose (Calvin) Coleman; Seabrook, SC; and Katherine (Larry) Young; Yemassee, SC; (4) Sisters–in–Law: Retha Miley, Carolyn Allen, both of Fairfax, SC; Shirley Jackson, and Hattie White, Savannah, GA; (5) Brothers-In-Law: Angus Ritter, Herbert Jackson, Jr., Troy Jackson, and Chester Jackson; Devoted Niece: Tamekia Judge, Seabrook, SC. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
