Service of Celebration
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7 - 8
Our beautiful and beloved Laporche Banks, affectionately known as Shay, was a devoted daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Shay was born on March 3, 1997, in Allendale County, South Carolina, to LaTonya Priester and Gordon Lamont Banks.
She attended the public schools of Allendale County and was a graduate of the class of 2017 at Allendale – Fairfax High School.
Shay took a love for food service and began her journey with McDonald's, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She was a devoted and dedicated worker until her health began to decline.
During her leisure time, Shay enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She always had a beautiful smile and a kind word to say to everyone. Shay was our family’s glue. She kept our family together through the outpour of love she displayed daily.
Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call her from labor to reward our beloved Shay on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia.
Her departure has left a tremendous void in the lives of her beloved parents: LaTonya Priester (Iskeal Cantu); of the home; Father: Gordon Lamont Banks (7), Siblings: Lamont Banks, Jr.; of the home, Quan Banks, Hampton, SC, Natori Williams; Zykera Williams, both of Barnwell, SC, Lamya Banks, Emonte Banks; both of North Augusta, SC; Gordon Banks, Jr., Barnwell, SC. A host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
