Obituary For Mother Edna Mae Johnson

Edna Mae Johnson, was born on November 16, 1949, in Ulmer, South Carolina, to the late Mattie Loadholt and the late James Taylor.

She was educated in the public school system of Allendale County. In 1966, Edna met and married the love of her life the late Edward Johnson Sr. and this union was blessed with four sons and two daughters. Once settled in New York, Edna began a career as a Nursing Assistant. She eventually extended her family by adding two additional daughters. Edna was a loving and supportive mother who cared for her children and would do anything for them at any time.

Mother Johnson was full of personality and always spoke her mind. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, laughing, listening to music, and dancing. She loved to cook and had the best sweet potato pie. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren when given the opportunity, and they were the love of her life. Mother Johnson enjoyed spending time with her friends who loved and admired her almost as much as her family did.

While hospitalized Edna continued to be her normal spunky self, until her very last day.

On April 12, 2023, Mother Johnson passed away peacefully at Johnson-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA.

In addition, to her husband and parents as she enters her new life, she will be greeted with love from her loving step-father: Clyde Loadholt; (1) Daughter, Rutha Johnson; (1) Son: Terry Johnson, (3) Sisters: Gloria Chisolm, Susan Hayes, Linda Chisolm, and (1) Brother: Wilbur Loadholt.

Left to honor her memory are her (7) Children: Edward Johnson Jr., Stephanie Johnson, Phillip (Deidra) Johnson, Link (Janelle) Johnson, Tanya (Tony) Johnson, Raven Johnson, and Aukeem Johnson; (6) Sisters: Janie (Willie Paul) Wright, Barbara Clyde, Geraldine Daniels, Carrie (Jake) Taylor, Retha Hall, Patsy (Orleans) Andrews; (2) Brothers: Sidney (Theresa) Loadholt, and Donnie Loadholt; (26) Grandchildren: Kizzy Johnson, Sterling Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Ramell Johnson, Shamort Johnson, Tyquan johnson, Shaqueen Johnson, Lazet Johnson, Emagine Johnson, Charles Johnson, Domonique Johnson, Edward Johnson II, Quashawn Cohen, Yvette Riddle, Phillip Johnson Jr. Destiny Johnson, Landon Johnson, Jordyn Johnson, Infinite Johnson, Maleec Johnson, Siel Johnson, Saria Johnson, Trayvon White, Tyrique White, Taron White, and Tamia White, (21) Great - Grandchildren, (2) Great - Great Grandchildren: (1) Aunt: Alice Chilsolm: (1) Special Cousin: James Williams, (1) God - Daughter: Latifah Chisolm.
