FAIRFAX, SOUTH CAROLINA - It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Mr. John Miley, 78, of 1706 Beaufort Avenue South, Fairfax, South Carolina. Mr. Miley passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his residence in Fairfax.
Services will be held Saturday, March 16th, 11 A.M., at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. Rev. Glenn Orr, Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, March 15th, 12 Noon - 7:00 P.M. at M. F. Riley's Memorial Chapel.
Mr. John Miley was born October 8, 1940 in Allendale County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late JB Miley and the late Ida Smart. He was educated in the public school system of Allendale County.
At an early age, John became a member of Jackson Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life, he became a baptized member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health declined.
John was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Mary Sanders Miley and this union was blessed with three children.
He was employed with Queen Carpet for over 35 years where he received numerous accolades.
John’s personality could light up a room. John had a loving heart which was his best attribute. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and farming. He will be missed in the community.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Sanders Miley; One daughter: Deirdre Miley, Two sons: John Miley Jr., and Herman Miley, One brother: Prince Smart; One sister: Lorene Smart
John entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 5, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He leaves to cherish his legacy of love: One grandson: Stedman Miley, of the home; One son: Michael Owens; Brunson, SC; Four sisters: Nancy(Kenneth) White, Carolyn Allen, Retha Smart,all of Fairfax, SC, and Elenore (John) Kitchens; Chicago,IL; Three brothers: Leon Allen, Fairfax, SC, Angus Ritter, Sycamore, SC and James (Victoria) Miley, Newark, NJ; Special Cousins: Patricia Wright, Queenie Gregory, and Patricia Highsmith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
Family and Friends are gathering at the home of the late John Miley, 1706 Beaufort Avenue South, Fairfax, South Carolina.
