Ollie Dwayne Britt was born December 8, 1958 in Allendale County, South Carolina to the late Charlotte Britt and the late James Britt.
He graduated in 1976 from Commerce High School, Springfield, Massachusetts. After graduation, Ollie enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his Country faithfully until he received an Honorable Discharge in August, of 1979.
Dwayne as he was affectionately called married the love of his life the late Diane L. Gary, in 1981. To this union three children were born.
In the late 90's Ollie relocated to Fairfax, South Carolina where he became a baptized member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Joe Mole. Ollie loved to learn God's word.
Ollie loved construction, and as a result he self-trained himself, and he later became a licensed carpentry.
in 2010, Ollie relocated back to Springfield, Massachusetts, and he became a member of Greater New Life Christian Center, Indian Orchard, Massachusetts under the leadership of Rev. Francine Wilson. He worked with the Youth Men Ministry, where he taught the children carpenter.
Ollie was called from labor to reward on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his mother's residence in Fairfax, South Carolina.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Father: Hammie B. Mays, Grandparents: Celia and Hard Youmans, Shelly, and Ether Mays; (1) Aunt, Ellarie (Tiny) Reed; (1) Brother: Hammie Mays, Jr.
Ollie leaves to cherish his memories and his legacy: (4) Sons: Kito Gary, Jermain Britt, Hakeem Britt, all of Springfield, MA; and Jerome Britt, Paducah, TX; (1) Brother: Kelvin (Tonia) Jones, Allendale, SC; (5) Sisters: Bonita Britt, Dallas, TX., Bridget Saxon and Lisa Britt, Springfield, MA., Tonya (Dedrick) Carter, Allendale, SC, and Pam Smith, Fairfax, SC; (1) Loving Aunt: Lillian Pinckney, Springfield, MA; (11) Grandchildren, (2) Great-Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.

My Memory of Mr Britt, I met him on last Saturday as we buried his Mother. I drove the limousine with him in the front seat with me, we started talking, he stated to me that my personality was good and he enjoyed meeting me, I said to him , I was glad to have met the Britt family!! We then said our goodbye to each other and I drove away!! Dwayne it was a great pleasure meeting and talk with you! May you Rest in peace!! 💔💔💔
