Obituary For Mrs. Lula Mae Riley Fairley

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of our Beloved Sister Lula Mae Riley Fairley

I will Praise Him and Put My Trust In the Lord, she would always say. Hebrews 2:12-13

On Sunday Morning, November 4, 2018, one of God’s most loving and trusting children on this side of Heaven, Sister Lula Mae Riley Fairley, went home to be with her Heavenly Father. Sister Lula Mae Riley Fairley was born March 17, 1945 to George and Evelina Banks Riley in Lucedale, MS. She gave her life, to Jesus at an early age, at Lily Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of First Good Hope Baptist Church in Harleston, MS, where she served faithfully, as the church’s Secretary. Sister Lula Mae Fairley, a beautiful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother was a true Child of God. She really loved the Lord and strove to obey, and be a great witness for him. She loved giving, helping, serving others, and eating. She will be remembered as always loving, helping, and encouraging everyone. Her desire was to please God. She would always say, “I love God, and I love Ev’ erybody because the Lord is My Shepherd and I shall not want.”

Sister Fairley graduated from Oak Grove High School in Lucedale, MS. She retired from East Central High School, where she was a cafeteria worker for over twenty years. She and all the ladies, that worked there, became like sisters. Because of her love, dedication, trustworthy, and vision, for Family and Legacy, she served as treasurer for Oak Grove High School Reunion, was recently nominated as president, and was treasurer for Evelina Banks Family Reunion. She was also a faithful member, of 3 Sisters Court # 165 Heroines of Jericho. She became well known, all over because she spoke weekly, and worshipped in scriptures, with women all over, through Working Women Worship (Avodah- work, worship- serve). She prayed that all her family and friends would have a relationship, with God.

Sister Fairley was one of thirteen children. She really loved, and cherished all her brothers and sisters. She was preceded, in death by her parents, Evelina Banks Riley, and George (Christine) Riley; siblings, David Lee Banks, Willie Lee Riley, Louvinia Sargent, Arlene Wells, Pauline Howard, Georgia Vaxter, Addie Riley, Annette Vaxter, and Dianne Minor; father-in-law, Harvey (Mamie) Fairley; mother-in-law, Annie Bell (Elijah) Brown; and sister-in-law, Armer Jean Mosley.

Sister Lula Mae Fairley, a Faithful Woman, of Love and Honor, would always say…. “Do what God expects of you and Jesus will take Care of the Rest because the “Joy of the Lord Is my Strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Sister Fairley was lovingly known, for saying, “This is my favorite niece, nephew, cousin, or friend.” That would mean YOU----if she was referring to you, at that time. We were all Favored by her, with The True Love of God, the giving of a Hug and a Kiss.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52
