Jessie D Ragsdale was born on Apri; 9, 1949 to the union of Cassie Harris and Willie Ragsdale.
After graduating from O.E. Jordon High School he joined the United States Marine Corps where he fought and served in the Vietnam War for most of his military career.
After serving his country, Jessie resided in Brandon, Mississippi where he worked as a maintenance electrician for more than 30 years.
Jessie departed his life on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Lewis, Kirby, and Henry Ragsdale and Ben and Robert Harris; three sisters: Erma Langford, Evon Williams, and Louise Cleveland.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five daughters: Felicia (Robbie) Sharp, Canton MS; Jessica (Randy) Avery, Jackson MS; Betany (Willie) Capels, Mendenhall MS; Brandi (Paul) Marsh, Ellisville MS; Labrisha Brooks, Walnut Grove MS; two sons: Jeffery (Meesha) Flanagan, Jackson MS and Jessie Findley, Atlanta GA; and one brother: David (Loudes) Ragsdale, Carthage MS; five sisters: Dorthy Primer, Carthage MS, Mallie Hill, Kosciusko, MS; Teresa Stokes, Carthage MS; and Annie Mearl, Milwaukee WI; sister-in-law, Carolyn Harris; stepfather, Quincy Johnson; Uncle Tom and Aunt Betty Harris; eighteen grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
