Agnes D. Jenkins was born to the late Jim and Uola Phillips. As a child she joined Spring Ridge M,B, Church in Goodman, MS. Upon her return to Sallis, she joined Hill Spring M,B, Church where she attended to until her health declined. However, when she could no loner physically attend church she brought the church to her home. Everyone knew when you entered her home, her television or radio would always be turned to the Christian station. Though her body weakened, her faith in Jesus grew stronger. She loved talking about God, the bible, and sharing the gospel ton ayone that would listen.
In 1967, Agnes married Joe Jenkins, who proceeded her in death. That union left four children to cherish her memory: Joseph (Amanda) Jenkins and Sheliesa Jenkins of Indianapolis, Indiana; Carmela Jenkins and Serena J. Hall of Sallis, MS, and Angie Phillips (Arrik) Newsome of McAdams, MS. She leaves to cherish her memory loving sister, Joyce Estes of Durant, MS and a loving brother Cordell Phillips of Tupelo, MS. Additionally she leaves 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
