Sister Bertha Wingo-Morgan was born on June 28, 1934 to the late Eula and Darlee Wingo in Conway, MS. She was the seventh child of nine. Three sisters and four brothers proceeded her in death.
After 90 years of a well-lived life, she transitioned from her earthly life Saturday, November 9, 2024.
She accepted Christ at an early age joining Mount Olive M.B. Church. Together with fer sister, Mom shared the joy of gospel music, singing in churches ab filling each room with warmth and grace. Their voices were a cherished part of the community, a reflection of their faith and love for all.
She graduate from Conway High School in 1955 in Conway, MS where she was a member of the basketball team. Her favorite subject was Home Economics. That's where she developed her love for cooking and sewing.
On February 4, 1957, Bertha united in holy matrimony with the late Felton Dean Morgan. Together they bulit a loving family and welcomed two children into their union.
She worked at various jobs including Turnipseed Cleaners and Dr. Wilson's Office. She also worked at Carthage Corporation for 29 years where she later retired. Also, she worked various other domestic jobs.
Mom's love for gardening was a reflection of her soul-nurturing, gentle and and full of life. She spent countless hours among her flowers, turning her garden into a work of art that brought joy to everyone who saw it.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Dean Morgan; her grandson John Micheal Morgan; ten brothers-in-love; and seven sisters-in-love.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lana Holloway and her son Micheal Morgan, both of Carthage, MS. Her legacy lives on through six grandchildren; Kenji (Temeka) Holloway, Terrance Washington, Sherris Holloway, Russell (Terrica) Brown, Robin Brown and Ashely Morgan.; thirteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. He is also survived by her loving sister, Ethel Gill of Milwaukee, WI and her devoted sisters-in-love; Daisy Thames of Chicago, IL; Lois Wingo of Milwaukee, WI; Doris Morgan and Lilly Wingo, both of Carthjage, MS. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Her life was a testament to faith, family, and love---- a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
