Mrs. Isolonia Williams Fletcher, the third child and oldest daughter of eight children, was born on March 4, 1957, in West, MS to Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Earlee Flanagan Williams. Her parents, one sister, Verlynette “Lynn” and three brothers Wilbur, William, and Roy preceded her in death. By her family and friends, she was affectionately called “Icy”.
Isalonia began her educational journey in the Holmes County School District. She later attended Northside Elementary School and Tipton Street High School, graduating from Kosciusko Senior High School in 1975. in 1977, she earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Holmes Junior College in Goodman, MS.
Upon completion of her education, Isalonia began her career in retail by working for Mr. Bryant White at White's Record Shop on Beale Street in Kosciusko. On July 2, 1979, she embarked on an outstanding 45-year career with Walmart at store 239 in Kosciusko, MS. Known as Mrs. Icy, she found a second family there, meeting a dear friend and sister of her heart for life, Mrs. Annette Barksdale, and many others who became important parts of her life. Isalonia started her career as a cashier, then transitioned to Customer Service Manager, and later she was promoted to Human Resources Director (People Lead) until her passing. Icy loved her Walmart family. Over the years, she attended stockholder meetings, and her thirty-fifth and forty-fifth Anniversary meetings held in Bentonville, AR.
On August 24, 1985, she united in holy matrimony with Roosevelt Fletcher. Two daughters were born to this union, Tanishia and Courtney. In 2021, she became a “Gigi” to Emery and two years later to Aubrey. If anyone knew anything about her, they knew of the love she had for her family and her girls. During her free time, she enjoyed sho[ppingm reading, traveling and enjpying her grandchildren and family. She was also a faithful member of Christian Libery Church and over the decorating committee.
She was called to to her eternal home on December 17, 2024, at her home in Kosciusko, MS. Isalonia's memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Roosevelt, Two daughters, Tanishia and Courtney ( James) of Madison, MS. two granddaughters: Emery Elise and Aubrey Jade. One sister Margaret (Will) Winters; two brothers, Joe (Kim) Williams and Alex Willams all of Kosciusko, MS, Walmart 239 and a host of cousins and family members.
