Obituary For Odell Baines

Odell Beamon Baines was the third child of Estee and Willie Beamon, born April 1, 1936 in Leake County.

She was a devoted member and Mother of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and remained faithful until her health failed.

Mother Baines was educated in the Leake County School System and completed her college education at Mary Holmes College in West Point, Mississippi. She was a teacher with Friends of Children of Mississippi Head Start for over 35 years until she retired in 2009.

Mother Baines transitioned to her heavenly life on Thursday, July 29,2021. Left behind to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are three daughters: Beverly Jean Banks, Mavis Clayton, and Denise O'Harroll (Don). Her children Genell Baines and James Baines preceded her in death. She also leaves one sister, Lenier Lewis. Her sister Cora Mae Beamon and brother, Harris Beamon, preceded her in death.

Mother Baines was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
