Desiree Renee Smith was born on September 19, 1965 in the Bronx, New York to the parents of Connie Hobson and Edward Smith.
Desiree was loved by many. Her encouraging words, her infectious smile and her contagious God loving personality, will be truly missed.
On Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the age of 60, Desiree Renee Smith transition her life for an eternal life to be with her mother, Connie Hobson and daughter, Nyissa Smith Farley.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Thomas, Chanel, Dianerra, and Josephina; her two brothers: Edward and Lamont; and her sisters: Rochelle and Shelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

To this very day, I get choked up every single time I hear, "Somebody Come and Play," remembering the times that all of us "stair-step" cousins (sequenced one year after another) used to watch Sesame Street in the playpen together!
I always adored her dimples, giggles and calming presence, especially during long walks with Aunt Connie on Tremont and Bathgate Avenues, like a Mother Duck and her ducklings!
Desi was truly a gift and I looked forward to her visits when my family moved a little further away!
I know my Mom (Aunt Sistah) would have been so proud to the amazing family she raised as one of her favorite success stories from The Childcare Network at St. Peter's Lighthouse.
