The late Mrs. Linda Leola Jackson Hawthorne was born January 11, 1957 to the parentage of the Late Rushia (Altha Lee) Jackson II and Mrs. Genevia Rogers Jackson. She departed this life on October 24, 2023 at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mrs. Brenda Jackson Mitchell.
Linda was educated in the Houston County School System and graduated in 1975 from Perry High School.
She began her walk with the Lord at an early age by joining Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Perry, GA and later moved her membership to Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA where she served faithfully in The Gospel Ensemble Choir. Later she moved her membership to Saint James C.M.E. Church in Perry, GA where she was a faithfully served as a member until the Lord called her home. While at Saint James she was a devoted member of the Connection Choir later known as SJP Blessed. Linda was a melodious songbird who used her voice as an instrument of praise and adoration unto the Lord.
She leaves to cherish memories a son, Deddrick (Keisha) Jackson Sr., daughter Laquisha Jackson Oates and son in law Dante Oates. Grandchildren: Dyamon, Deddrick Jr., Tyra, Shynia “Mole”, Makayla, Denaija “Lulu”, and Maliyah; Great-granddaughter: Harmony. Sisters: Elaine (James) Thomas of Hawkinsville, GA , Venis (Marrione) Glover-Gokah, Jill Pleasant, and Jackie Smith all of Warner Robins, GA. Brothers: Corey Jackson, Conal Jackson of Warner Robins, Rushia (Marie) Jackson III of Tennessee, Lewis Smith of Virginia and Charlie (Nikki) Smith of Texas. Special nieces and nephews Pamela Mitchell, Travis Mitchell, Shanika “Nisa” Esters, and Jermaine Mitchell. She will be remembered by her devoted aunt Ruby Napier, devoted sister-friend Clara Tremble, and beloved friend Frank Jones. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Linda will forever be one of the most beautiful and caring people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her kind and humble spirit has been a beacon of light and life for so many.
