On April 6, 2023. Robert Austin Evans, Sr. transcended from his earthly labors and life's bitter pains to eternal rest and peace.
Robert was born August 14, 1961, in Macon, GA to the parents of Robert Evans and the late Gwendolyn Evans. He was the oldest brother to Rodney and David Evans. In 1979, he graduated from Central High School, in Bibb County. He started his career at Boeing, as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic. He later moved on to Brown and Williamson, as a line tech, and opted to stay in Macon after relocation of the plant. Shortly after, he received certification as an Electronic Technician, from Central Georgia Technical College, and later retired as an Electrician, from Warner Robins Air Force Base.
In 1982, Robert was united in marriage to Valerie (Nelson) Evans and was a completely devoted husband for forty-one years. He was a very loving father to son, Robert Evans, Jr. (Onnique) and daughter, Jacqueline Evans.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Evans, and his brothers, Rodney and David Evans.
In addition to his wife and children, Robert leaves to cherish his memories: father; Robert Evans (Onnique0; two grandchildren, Adonis and Adarah Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, amongst other family members and friends.
I met Austin in the sixth grade and we have been friends ever since. I was his Best Man at his Wedding and He was the Best Man at mine. We have worked together at Brown & Williamson and I tried to keep in touch when I moved to North Carolina. Austin was my best and dearest friend and the saddest I feel is immeasurable. Valerie, you and your family will always be in my prayers. Though Austin is absent from the Earth, He is in the Presence of the Lord. Randall W Hooks III
My condolences to the Evans Family during this time of grief and loss. May God gives you peace strength and comfort. Austin and I were good friends, and he certainly will be missed...RIP.
