Funeral Services for Ms. Gloria L. Woody, 83, were held on Saturday January 17, 2026 @11:00 a.m. at St Mark Community Church, Dekalb, MS. Pastor Tony Cole officiated the services.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gloria Louise Morton-Woody was born on March 17, 1942. in DeKalb. Mississippi, to the late Leslie Morton Sr. and Lucille Grady Morton.
Gloria was united into Holy Matrimony to "The love of her life" Willie Joe Woody until he left to be with the Lord.
She confessed to Christ at an early age and joined Bel Mount Baptist Church. She was an active member until she left and moved to Flint Michigan.
On Tuesday. January 6. 2026. Gloria took her rest into the Pearl Gates of Heaven to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 20 years. 2 sisters: Hatti Belle Carpenter and Cleo Grady and 2 brothers: Leslie Morton Jr. and Morman Morton.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister. Mary Joyce McIntosh (Willie) of DeKalb. MS with whom cared for her until the very end. A step-son. Tray (Tawanna) Woody and two grandchildren: Tiara Woody of Taylar, MI and Dr. Talia Woody of Atlanta, GA. Two special care givers Mildred Bourrage and Juanita Cole both of DeKalb, MS. A special nephew Sterling Murry of Flint, MI. And a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
