Funeral Services for Mr Robert Wilkins were held Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Dekalb, MS. Pastor Melvin Rush will officiate.
Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
Robert Wilkins was born on March 15, 1967, in DeKalb, Mississippi, where he was raised and remained deeply rooted throughout his life. DeKalb was more than his hometown—it was where he built his life, his relationships, and his legacy.
He received his education through the Kemper County School System and graduated from Kemper County High School in 1985. He later attended East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi, where he earned a degree in mechanics and proudly played football. During that time, he developed the strength, discipline, and determination that would carry him throughout his life.
Robert dedicated his working years to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) in DeKalb, Mississippi. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man-someone who showed up. took pride in his work, and provided for his family.
He believed in God and was a part of the Beulah Baptist Church community. His faith was steady and personal, something he carried with quiet strength.
Above all, Robert was a strong man with a big heart. He loved his family deeply. Although he may not have always expressed it in words, his love was evident through his presence, his actions, and the way he stood for those he cared about.
He was married to Brenda Wilkins for 26 years, a union that brought forth a family and a lifetime of memories. Later in life, his companionship with Patricia, remained a special part of his life.
Robert found his greatest joy in his grandchildren. His four grandsons-Derrick,Drexel, Jesiah, and Ryan-were his pride and happiness that cannot be measured.
On April 19, 2026 Robert departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering presence.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory:
His loving children, Brianna Edwards, Vakeitha Wilkins, and Robert B. Wilkins;
His four beloved grandsons, Derrick, Drexel, Jesiah, and Ryan; His former spouse, Brenda Wilkins, and his special companion, Patricia.
His siblings, Margie Wilkins Moore, Stacie Wilkins Richardson, Mary Hull Donald, Cathy Wilkins, Lynn Otis Wilkins, Terry Wilkins, and Darrell Lee Wilkins; his extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives & friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Odie Wilkins and Willie Ivy Wilkins; his peternal grandparents, A.C. Wilkins and Charles Ray Wilkins; his maternal grandparents, Aaron Wilkins and Evelyn McClendon Wilkins; and his siblings, Cora Wilkins, Levon Wilkins, Christopher Wilkins, and Luvenia McClendon.
