Funeral Services for Deacon Timothy Craig, 59, of Preston, MS were held Saturday, January 3, 2026 @ 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove M.B. Church in Preston. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Rev Wayne Benn, Pastor officiated.
Deacon Timothy Craig was born on September 9, 1966, to the late Ira Lee Stewart and Willie Hickman. From an early age, Timothy demonstrated a deep love for God and His church. He was a devoted and faithful member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served diligently in many capacities. On November 7, 2010, he was ordained as a deacon, a role he fulfilled with humility and dedication. Timothy also sang faithfully in the choir and willingly gave his time, talents, and service wherever needed.
Timothy was employed with Kemper Road and Bridges until his health began to decline. Known for his generous spirit, he had a heart for giving and helping others whenever he could. He found great joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren and took pride in gardening. In his younger years. Timothy enjoyed playing fast-pitch baseball, a pastime that brought him much happiness.
On December 27, 2025. Timothy peacefully transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly resting place.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, and two step-brothers.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Janie Craig of Preston, Mississippi: two daughters, Tammy Madison of DeKalb, Mississippi, and Ericka Madison of Davenport, lowa; three sisters, Mamie (George) Mack of West Memphis, Arkansas, Mae Roe Hickman of Rock Island, Illinois, and Rosie Sanders of Preston, Mississippi; five cherished grandchildren, Zakariah Madison, Zakarion Madison, Kayden Rush.
Kashton Rush, and Ralyn Hopgood; and a cousin and best friend, Rathael Craig. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Timothy's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on forever in the hearts of all whose lives he touched. He will always be cherished, deeply loved, and fondly remembered.
