Missionary Mary A Stevens was a beloved mother and Lil mama during the 80 yrs of her life. She went peacefully to heaven on Oct 31,2025 in MEMPHIS TN without any pain or struggles. Going into God's loving care.
She was born in Marvell, Ark on June 14,1945 to Fannie Mae Perry & Chester Tate. Mama was known for her dancing, cooking and praising the Lord. Everyone who knew her knew that she was a faithful servant of Christ. Her friends called her Ms. Blessings. She was a God fearing woman, a prayer warrior and raised all 11 of her children to put things in “God's Hands”. Mama believed in the power of prayer but she was also down to earth. Her sisters and brothers always speak of how much she used to dance when she was younger. They all express how she was like a mother to them.
Our family will miss her dearly but find comfort in knowing that she is celebrating in heaven with her mom Fannie Mae Perry. Her sister Terry Ann McLean and brother James Brooks Jr. Her children Anthony Beckwood, Norman Beckwood and Sandra Beckwood.
Missionary Mary Alice Stevens is survived by her three brothers Willie Fields and wife Vera, Bobby Brooks and wife Delphine, Larry Brooks and wife Tienna. Five sisters Joyce Johnson and husband Bobby, Venisa Foster and husband Glen. Burdine Brown and husband Sonny, Stephanie Wright and husband Darnell, Linda Brown and husband Mike. A sister at heart Bertha Lee Tate.
Six daughters Carolyn Hughes, Patrica Beckwood, Linda Beckwood, Marilyn Knowlton, Gwyendella Griffin, and Theresa Griffin Tutwiler and husband Mike. Two sons Willie Nay Beckwood, and Rodney Beckwood.
Mary Alice also leaves a host of grands and great grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends who will always hold dear to the precious memories they made with “Lil Mama.”
