To the family of Stevie D🙏🏾
I offer my sincere condolences in the loss of your loved one and my former teammate and friend!
Stevie D was an an amazing person and even more of an amazing athlete for someone his size!
I got a chance to play beside him and witness first hand some of the super human plays he would make in center field.
If it stayed in the park, Stevie D was going to track it down and catch that ball!
Had he been 6 feet he would no doubt have gotten a chance at the pros in my humble opinion
Stevie was honest and full of laughter!
I will miss him🙏🏾
No doubt he is telling Willie Mays in one of their heavenly convos that he too could have made that over the shoulder catch at the Polo Grounds
RIP Stevie D🙏🏾
God Bless

To: Rucker Family
My heart is heavy from the loss of your love one and my "long-term friend, Stevie." I was devastated to hear about his passing. I will never forget him. His friendship is embedded in my memory. We were introduced in 1977, after first attending PQC. Stevie D. was an amazing person, baseball player, athletically inclined: in running, basketball, dancing, and had a jovial personality. He always had you laughing...I speak of him often to relatives and others, when speaking of college years.. He wasn't only a friend, but a brother.. Gone, but not forgotten.. He is no longer in pain.
