Cathy V. Burris Watson, 57, of 929 8th Street, Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away on November 23, 2020. She was born February 10, 1963 to James T. Burris, Jr., and Verna Burris in Rock Hill, SC in York County.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James T. Burris, Sr., grandmothers, Alice C. Burris, Ozella Neely, uncles, Calvin Burris, Sr., Bobby Burris, Sr., aunt, Lillie Esther White.
She graduated in 1981 from Rock Hill High School then received an Associate in Substance Abuse, Phlebotomy, at York Technical College.
She worked in Healthcare and at a Juvenile Detention Center. Her hobbies were crocheting, reading, shopping and art. She was a loving mother, awesome grandma/mama. She enjoyed staying up late watching Gunsmoke on TV with her mom, who was not only her mother but her best friend.
She is survived by her father, James T. Burris, Jr. and mother, Verna Burris both of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Connie Gaston-Ellerbe of Rock Hill, SC; daughters, Nakiska Davis and Shinarhea Davis both of Rock Hill, SC; sons, Ericko Watson, Tajah Watson (Jessica), Tyshun Davis and Tyreik Davis all of Rock Hill, SC; six grandchildren, Selina Watson, Adrian Watson, Samuel Watson, Jeremiah Watson, Xandar Watson and De’rico Watson; niece, Nakiyah Ellerbe of Rock Hill, SC; nephew, Jamieson Ellerbe of Rock Hill, SC; aunts, Margaret Sawyer (Willie), Sheila Buchanan, Diane Robinson (Jerry) all of Rock Hill, SC, Mary Louise Crawford (Albert) of York, SC and Carolyn Brown of Edison, NJ; uncles, Willie Burris, Johnny Burris (Mildred), John B. Burris (Linda), Rev. Freddie Daniel (Barbara) all of Rock Hill, SC, Nathaniel Daniel (Evelyn) of Lancaster, PA, Eugene Daniel of Gastonia, NC and William Cousar (Carol) of Winston Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Cathy Burris Watson, will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home Chapel 870 Saluda St, Rock Hill SC , Dr. John McKinney, (Officiating), Rev. Vernell McCullough and Rev. Freddie Daniel (Assisting)
