Obituary For Mr. Ronald Daniel McVey

Ronald Daniel McVey, 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14th, 2022, at Magnolia Manor in Rock hill, SC. Ronald was born in Beckley, West Virginia May 14th, 1963, by Jeanette Ann Stover McVey & Ronald Earl McVey... (known as Bigg’n), and brought “Ronnie” home to Whitesville, West Virginia. Unfortunately, Mr. McVey was killed in a mining accident when Ronnie was 2 weeks old. Then Delbert, Jeanettes oldest brother and wife, Barbara or “Bob bob” , permanently stepped in and had a big hand in helping Jeanette to raise Ronnie. To where Delbert or “D D” was really more like a Father Figure, not just an Uncle. Ronnie was very close to his Granny, Emma, also his cousin Sandy—Who was actually raised with him, so Sandy was more like a big sister. Later, Sandys husband, Chuck, became Ronnies best friend with sharing interests of hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, cooking out, etc. Going back to Ronnies school years of being "Straight A Student”, But also being quite mischievous in his own way of no one ever finding out … but his best subject was History, and still graduated with high honors of being nominated for “Valedictorian “— Only to pass it down, because it would ruin “His Image" if everyone knew how smart he really was! However not going to college; but then getting the chance to pursue his forever career with surveying (with the help of Delbert), Ron began surveying at “Beckley Survey Company” for 5 years Then later visiting Myrtle Beach South Carolina—Just thumbing through the phone book out of curiosity... Ron was hired on the spot at ESP Associates in North Carolina. He worked at ESP Associates for 23 years & 3 days. Ron made a lot of good friends at ESP, and in life in general. Ronald was married to Jodee Hunt McVey for 18 years, they built a beautiful bond together, Although they later went their separate ways in 2014, they still kept a very close friendship. After 6 years together, they had their most precious gift ever; “Kascidee Lynn McVey”, on September 22nd, 2002. Kascidee has always been the best and forever "Deddys Girl !!!!” …who loves her deddy with all of her heart, and will always have so much love for him.!! He was saved by a 5-by pass open heart surgery in February of 2008, shortly after he continued living his life. In November 2020, the unthinkable happened leading to him having his last stroke. His daughter was then handed Power of Attorney over him, he then resided in a nursing home where he unexpectedly passed away a year and five months later... Ronald was filled with laughter and jokes, always keeping a smile on everyone's face, truly the life of the party. He was so generous, loving and caring. An independent man that worked to support his family and himself. He was a genuine man who would help anyone in need. He was a wonderful man/father and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
