Annie Smith (Grubb), 94, passed away peacefully at her daughter's residence in York, SC, on March 18, 2026. Born to the late Eva and Grady Fowler in Gaffney, SC, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Katherine Grubb, husband Clyde Smith, and three sons, Roger, Bobby, and Billy Grubb, brother, Claude Fowler. Ann is survived by her three daughters, Becky Olinger (Tim), Vera Love, and Larunda Williams (Jay), and her son, Wilbur Grubb (Donnie).
As a devoted Christian and member of Forward Church of God, Annie was a loving mother of seven, grandmother of 18, and had many great and great-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Ann retired from Lance, Inc and later worked in the childcare center of a local church. She was deeply devoted to children and it was evident. She and Clyde raised Martha Brown whom they considered 'their little gift from God.'
Ann had a generous heart and helping others was her calling.
She was precious, to know her was to love her, definitely our gift from God.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 1:00pm-2:00pm with the funeral to follow at Forward Church of God, 1599 Glasscock Rd, Rock Hill SC. The family extends their gratitude to Agape Hospice Care for the outstanding care they provided, Forward Church of God for their love and support, and to Becky and Tim Olinger for providing our Mother a home where she could be surrounded by friends and loved ones until the Lord called her home.
Until we meet again.... Go Rest High on That Mountain.
