Doris Tarlton Williamson

Doris Tarlton Williamson, age 85, of Indian Land, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025.
Doris was born on January 7, 1940. She spent many years working at General Tire, where she dedicated herself until her retirement. In her later years, Doris enjoyed the simple pleasures of life reading books, watching old western movies, and working on crossword puzzles, and especially cooking for those she loved.
Doris had a deep love for cooking and was proud of the homemade meals she prepared using recipes passed down through her family. Sharing food was one of the ways she showed care and love, and those meals will remain cherished memories for her family.
She shared 51 loving years of marriage with her husband, Richard Henry Williamson, who preceded her in death. Together, Doris and Richard enjoyed camping trips in the North Carolina mountains and riding their Harley motorcycle, creating lasting memories along the way.
Doris was a faithful member of Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church, where her quiet faith and presence were an important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Henry Williamson, and her sister, Barbara Ann. Doris is survived by her three children, Douglas Williamson, Pamela Houston, and Doreen Therrell; her grandchildren, Michael Houston, Ashley Houston, Sam Williamson, Adam Williamson, Sarahgrace Williamson; and her sister, Joan Gettys.
Doris will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, her love of tradition, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
