Obituary For Ms. Elizabeth Ann Henson

Ms. Elizabeth Ann (Merritt) Henson, 83 of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 17, 2025, at the home of her daughter.

In addition to her parents, William and Helen Merritt, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Henson Sr, and her sisters, Carol Williford and Doris Vincent.

Ms. Henson is survived by her daughter, Rena Henson (Corey), sons, Clayton Henson Jr (Lisa) and Adrian Henson (Shannon), grandchildren, Solana, Levi, Shona, Hunter, Zoey and Tristan and her loyal dog "Baby".

Ms. Henson was born April 19, 1941, in Rock Hill SC. She has lived in the area for most of her life. She worked as a weaver for Springs Mills until her children were born and she became a homemaker. Later, she worked as the Assistant Director of Creative World Daycare Center from which she retired.

Her children are extremely grateful to have had the good fortune of being raised by such a loving Mother. She put them first and made many sacrifices through the years that will never be forgotten. “Ms. Ann” was much loved by all who knew her, especially her family and will be missed terribly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Inspiration Baptist Church with Pastor Harry Broadwell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12 noon. The service will begin at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her beloved Church, Inspiration Baptist, 1097 McConnells Hwy, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
