It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, Linda Ann Smith Wurdemann.

She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Carol O’Nika Burciago, her cherished grandsons, Kaidin James and Dagan Lacey, and her precious granddaughter, Ashlyn Rylee Simon. She also leaves behind her devoted sisters, Angela Hyman of New Hope, SC, and Denise (Robbie) Knight of Rock Hill, SC, her brother, Glenn (Bernadette) Smith of Toledo, OH, and her loving bonus mom, Jane Smith of Hillsboro, OH. Linda’s life was further blessed with numerous amazing nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, her special friend, Timmy Harris, her lifelong best fried Naomi Potts Licalsi and a wide circle of extended tribal family and friends who will carry her memory forward.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Sheila Osborne and JD Smith Jr., her sisters, Susan “Susie” Osborne and Mary “Buffy” Thurman, her brother Steven, and her twin sisters, Cindy and Sandy, her niece Kristin Colley, and great-nephews Brentlee Crump and Hunter Hamacher. Though gone too soon, Linda is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Linda’s warmth, laughter, and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Her heart was as big as her smile. She loved deeply, gave freely, and found joy in the simple moments shared with family, friends, and all living creatures. She will be remembered always for her strength, her kindness, and her unwavering love.

A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Red Path Baptist Fellowship Church, 14 Teaberry Ln, Rock Hill, SC 29730. The family welcomes everyone to join afterward at the home of Denise Knight, 1511 Cemetery Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730, to share food, fellowship, and memories of Linda.
