Obituary For Ms. Marcia Anderson

Marcia E. Anderson, 77, of Lancaster, SC, formerly of Reedsburg and Racine, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Lancaster. Marcia was born on November 09, 1948, in Reedsburg, WI to John W. and Marian Shafer Kramer. She grew up and graduated from high school there and later moved to Madison, WI where she would eventually meet the “love of her life” Daniel Anderson. She was later widowed by him in 2001. She then met her partner of 22 years, James McGuire, who she spent the rest of her life living in the warmer South Carolina weather. She also loved traveling to Arizona and Wisconsin to visit family and friends and never turned down a good cruise ship trip. Marcia’s greatest love was for her family and extended. Marcia will be missed greatly by her sons, Jeff (Karin) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ and Brad Smith of Waterloo, WI, and her grandchildren, Jacob and Stephanie Smith, who she was very proud of. Marcia is further survived by her sister, Sara (Ed) Templin of Sun Prairie, WI, her two brothers, John (Fe) Kramer of Vacaville, CA, and Terry (Linda) Kramer of Yucaipa, CA, and her partner of 22 years, James McGuire of Lancaster, SC and his family. Marcia’s humor, laughter, and wisdom, and will live in our hearts forever. She is now free of pain in heaven where we know she is smiling, joking and watching over us all. It was Marica’s wish to rest in peace at an elephant sanctuary where she had a passion and respect for what she thought was the most powerful animal on earth. A private family memorial service will be held at a later time in WI.
