Obituary For Ms. Martha Jane Brown Carter

Martha Carter, 85, of York, South Carolina, was born on June 15, 1941, in Sharon, South Carolina, to George Walter Brown and Hannah McDow Brown. On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, while at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill, Martha peacefully answered the loving call of Jesus. With grace and comfort, the Lord welcomed her home, saying, β€œCome to me; I have prepared a place for you in paradise.”

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home Chapel.

A Homegoing Celebration of Life for Martha Carter will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Unity AME Zion Church, 1690 Highway 97, Sharon, South Carolina 29742.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
