A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Catawba Indian Nation Long House, 996 Avenue of the Nations, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Mary “Buffy” Elizabeth Thurman’s spirit departed this earthly home on July 18, 2023, and danced into the spirit world where her ancestors happily greeted her in a joyous reunion.

She leaves behind her five children, Jose “Joey” Colley III, Rock Hill, SC, Kristine Colley, Rock Hill, SC, Andrew (Chelsea) Colley, Rock Hill, SC, Jessy (Taylor) Colley, Florence, SC, Amber (Teddy) Arnold, Rock Hill, SC, and Raven (Justin) Thurman, Rock Hill, SC; 12 grandchildren; lifelong friend, Jose Colley and beloved cat, Mr. Jingles.

Sisters, Angela Hyman, Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Wurdemann, Rock Hill, SC, and Denise (Robbie) Knight of Rock Hill, SC; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends who will miss her presence here until we are all joined together again.

Buffy was predeceased in death by her parents, Sheila and Steve Osborne and sister, Susan Osborne.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Heather Hamacher and dear friends, Velma Whiteside and Dollie Steele, for their tender compassionate care.
