In Loving Memory of Susan E. Bishop
Susan E. Bishop, a native of Clover, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Susan was a woman whose heart knew no strangers. She was devoted to her family and loved unconditionally, always opening her heart and home to those around her. To so many, she wasn't just Susan—she was "Mama" or "Mawmaw," titles she wore with pride. Her kindness, strength, compassion, and unwavering love touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Nellie Ledford Erdy; her father, David Edward Erdy; her sister, Joy Erdy Chavez; and her cherished daughter, Lisa Bishop Nixon.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Eric Glenn Bishop Jr.; her former daughter-in-law, Nakiaii Files, whom Susan loved and considered her own daughter; her beloved grandchildren, Josiah Files, Emily Benton (Shane), Eric Glenn Bishop III, and Jannie May Osborne (Andrew); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Rilyn, Kamari, Dakota, Annalisa, and Nellie Kay.
Susan's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and never missed an opportunity to let those she loved know just how much they meant to her. Her legacy of unconditional love, resilience, and generosity will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who went before her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Parker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
