Obituary For Dea. Alvin Edwards, Jr.

Deacon Alvin Edwards, Jr. of Panama, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 30th at Gulf Coast Hospital. He was 72 years old.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.

He leaves treasured memories with his beautiful wife of 52 years, Rev. Ella Edwards; son, Alvin Edwards, III (Tonya); daughter, Carolyn J. Edwards (Ruddy); grandchildren, Mycah Thompson, Sandra Merino, Mitchell Caldwell, LaTyra Baker, Michael Edwards, Katie Edwards and Ella Edwards; great granddaughter, Isla Thompson; three brothers, James Edwards (Gwen), Anderson Edwards (Elaine) and Ecclesiastes Edwards (Sonya); two sisters, Ruth Skelton (Fred) and Annie Butler (Wilbur); He is also survived by three sons in Christ, Michael King, Tim Myers and Rev. Danta McGee; two special friends, Ernest Robinson and Willie J. Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, January 9th in the parking lot at Macedonia M.B. Church with Pastor, Dr. Jesse Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Community Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
