Obituary For Little Man Ja'Mari K Mathis

TIME TO BE BORN:

On June 25, 2025, Marianna, Florida, JA’MARI KEEN MATHIS was welcomed by his loving parents, Jaliyah R. Louise Holmes and Jamyrick Nashard Mathis. He was five days late, but still right on time.

TIME TO LIVE:

From the moment he arrived, crying and yelling, Ja’mari made an impact on the world unlike any other. He was a beautiful, healthy baby boy with a light, hope, and innocence shining in his eyes. He instantly made everyone fall in love with him. Ja’mari was a quiet baby at first, but once he came out of his shell, it felt like Jesus Himself had sent an angel down to spread joy. He loved animals, especially the family dog, Seven. He would make sure Seven never went without food as he gave him food from his hand or dropped it down for him. He also loved his bunnies and was so intrigued by them, learning to touch them gently. Ja’mari was growing into a handsome little boy who loved playing with his toys, his ball, and listening to music. He wasn’t the biggest on smiling, but when he did, his smile would light up the room—even the world’s if they saw it. He was spoiled rotten as an only child and got whatever he needed and wanted. There wasn’t a food he didn’t like. Everyone loved his chunky cheeks. Ja’mari was like a shooting star: unexpected, beautiful, and unforgettable. Holding him felt like holding a bundle of joy, because that is exactly what he was. He was our little boss baby, and he will be missed dearly forever. He spent many weekends with his grandparents and many days with his godmother. He was crawling and ready to explore the world. He often crawled behind his mother and watched her cook. He loved falling asleep on his dad’s chest. His dad tucked him in almost every night, making sure he was safe, comfortable, and sound asleep with his music and night light on. Many believed Ja’mari would grow up to be boxer, because he had he strongest little right hook. He had all the potential in the world to shine his light. Though his time here was short, he left his mark on our lives and in our hearts as a pure-hearted baby boy. He was learning to walk, trying to talk, and had no fear of anything or anyone. He loved meeting new people and was curious about everything and everyone.

TIME TO GO HOME:

Sadly, on May 9, 2026, Jesus saw fit to call Ja’mari home early. Though our hearts are broken, we believe he is in a better place in Heaven, watching over us all surrounded by all the angels, dogs, bunnies, music, and baby bottles his little heart could imagine. One day, God will call us home too, and we will get the opportunity to reunite with our little angel in heaven. He leaves to cherish his loving and beautiful memories with his parents, Jaliyah Holmes and Jamyrick Mathis; grandmothers, Angela (Robert) Holmes of Greenwood, Florida, and Alesha Colston of Dothan, Alabama; grandfathers, Myair Mathis of Sneads and Ronald Hall of Marianna, Florida; great-grandparents, Viccie Borders (the Late Jacoby Borders) of Greenwood, Florida, Elmore (Wanda) Holmes of Grand Ridge, Florida, Mary (JD) Riles of Marianna, Florida, Charles Colston of Mt.
