Mr. Randy Spencer of Miami, Florida and formerly of Marianna made his transition on November 28th at UM Hospice in Miami surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old.
Randy was a dedicated worker who served in various roles throughout his life as a cook, security officer and event staff. He was known for his charming personality, ability to make people laugh and his generous spirit of helping others.
A passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, Randy’s love for the team was well-known among his friends and family. Despite battling cancer in his final years, he maintained his warm and positive outlook on life.
He attended and graduated from the public schools of Jackson County. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Pope Chapel AME Church.
Randy is survived by his son, Jason Hayes; daughters, LaToya Wright and Ebony Wright; grandchildren, Johvan, Jaheim, Kimberly, Kahlani, Elijah and Karim; great grandchildren, Genesis and Ke’mi; sisters, Brenda C. Louann, Celeste, Brenda, Mokisha, Stephanie, Plassie, Tangela and Tomeeka; brothers, Vernon, Melvin, Shavrick and Anthony; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He will be remembered for his bright smile, infectious laughter and unwavering willingness to support those around him. Randy touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A public viewing will be Friday, December 20th at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel from 3-6pm. A Celebration of Randy’s life will be Saturday, December 21st at 1pm at Bethel Star Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul L. Daniels, Sr., Reverend Ronnie Spears, Minister Calvin Clemmons and Minister Darrell Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pope Chapel AME Church Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until funeral time at 1:00 PM
