A TIME TO BE BORN:

Willie “Nan” Pittman, Jr., was born to the late Willie “Nan” Pittman, Sr., and Lucressie Stephens Pittman on February 24, 1941, in Greenwood, Florida, in the Dellwood community, and passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, the same day as his father, Willie “Nan” Pittman, Sr., 43 years ago. Willie was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend who left a profound impact on all who knew him.

A TIME TO BUILD:

Willie grew up on Blue Springs Road, where he spent his early years with his family. Willie attended Cottage Hall, Mt. Tabor Elementary, and Union Grove High School, where he remained until the 10th grade. His foundation in faith began at an early age, and he became a devoted member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Willie’s strong work ethic was instilled in him at a young age as he worked on the family farm alongside his father and brothers. Later, he went on to own and operate his own successful logging company, which he ran until his health began to decline. Known for his infectious smile and kind-hearted spirit, Willie’s legacy will forever be cherished in the memories of his loved ones. He was particularly known for his joy in cooking, teaching his nieces and nephews how to drive, and spending time reminiscing about the “good old days.” Willie had a gift for song, and his voice was a comfort to many.

A TIME TO LOVE:

In the early 1960s, Willie married his wife, Shirley Daniels-Pittman, and from their union, they were blessed with two children, both of whom preceded him in death.

AWAITING HIS ARRIVAL:

In addition to his children, he was also preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lucressie Pittman; two sisters, Sally Lee Callaway and Florence Pittman Jones; three brothers, Willie Lee, Walter Uarl, and James Harrison Pittman; and his beloved nephews, Hearvy and Alexzander Callaway.

A TIME TO BE MISSED:

Willie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his son, Bruce Jackson (Aldina) of Greenwood, FL; his daughter, Gail Pittman of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, Xavier Gray, Alicia Jackson, Jamar Henderson, TaCora Robison, and Dawanda Pittman; four great-grandchildren, A’rynsia Jackson, Ka’mara Henderson, Mykai Rouse, and Tiomy Green; three sisters, Jennie Mae Hartsfield (L.E.) of Greenwood, FL, Lucy Mae Pittman of Bryan, TX, and Earline Pittman Paramore (Charles) of Marianna, FL; one aunt, Bessie Pittman of Greenwood, FL; five nieces, Vivian Howard (Joe) of Yuba City, CA, Mar Thelma Love of Atlanta, GA, Cherolyn Pittman of Greenwood, FL, LuTina Milton (Lonnie) of Dothan, AL, and Farrah Webb of Montgomery, AL; six nephews, Darryl Pittman (Yerlonda) of Bryan, TX, Kelvin Horne (Tanesia) of Columbia, SC, Steve Paramore of Tallhassee, FL, Ronnie Paramore (Lindra) of Atlanta, GA, Anthony Pittman (Frances) of Bryan, TX, and Charles Paramore (Suzanne) of Greenwood, FL; along with a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, friends, and the staff at the Chipola Health and Rehab Center. Willie’s family takes comfort in knowing that he now rests in the peace of the Lord, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the love he shared with so many.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Dwight Cockerham, Sr. and Rev. Norris Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the caring staff of Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna, FL directing. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00non until funeral time at 1:00 p.m.

Public viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Peoples Funeral Home chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
