Glenda Bryant Pride was a friend and mother figure to all she met.
Born to Bertha Bryant Smith (Deceased) on Oct 9, 1960 in Donaldsonville, Ga.
A Lifetime resident of Greenwood, Fl and an active member of Greenwood Chapel AME where she devoted her life to God at an early age and served in many capacities. She attended Union Grove School until transitioning and graduating from Malone School in 1978. She served her community as a corrections officer for 20+ years and as a postal clerk until retirement. She expressed her love for her family, friends and community by being of service. She filled her days with cooking, dancing, laughing and getting closer to God. Her sun set on Feb 11th, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roy Lee Pride. Her children Bernard Holden of Bagdad, FL. (Erica Holden), Ashley Welch of Tallahassee, FL (Xavian Welch), D'angelo Hearns of Tallahassee, FL. and Mario Hearns of Miami, FL, Ronald Pride of Havana, FL. and Keisha Pride, Washington State. Grandchildren: Sydney Thornton, St. Petersburg, FL., London Rucker, Washington State, Andre Holden, Bagdad, FL. Jamaris Holden, Greenwood, FL. and Kilian Holden, Bagdad, FL. Siblings including Sandra Bryant, Tallahassee, FL; Artemus Bryant, Dothan, AL.; Barbara Pierre (Charles) Marianna, FL. and a host of siblings, cousins, friends and lifelong acquaintances. We continue on with her memory, her light, and her love.
Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Jerusalem AME Church located on Highway 73 south with Rev. Blanche Godwin, Rev. Ester Bowers, Brother Bobby Bowers, Rev. Clarissa Matthews and Rev. Adrienne McClendon officiating.
Interment will follow in the Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Greenwood Florida with the caring staff of Peoples Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am.
